For developments where gravity connection to the mains drainage
is not possible private sewage systems are required.
This can be either be installation of a pumping station which pumps
sewage to the mains-sewer or installation of a sewage treatment
plant which treats the liquid part of the sewage onsite which then
discharges to a stream or soakaway.
Finding the right solution
Watling Hope's strength is that we are solution orientated, not
product oriented. We carry out a 360 degree site assessment and
identify the best long-term solution for the project.
This includes evaluating options for either pumping to the mains
sewer or installation of a new sewage treatment plant. The
preferred option where practical is always to pump to the
mains-sewer as this means limited ongoing maintenance costs and no
ongoing responsibility for environmental compliance.
We carry out site audits and examine drainage records to assess
feasibility for pumping. Often we have been able to pump to the
mains sewer where previously it was not thought possible - saving
the client many tens of thousands of pounds in ongoing operating
costs.
